First Visit
Medical History
During the first visit, the periodontist reviews the patient’s complete medical and dental history and asks specific questions to understand the patient’s condition. It is extremely important for the periodontist to know if any medications are being taken, if the patient is pregnant or being treated for any condition such as allergies, heart disease, diabetes or infectious disease.
It is vital that the patient provides complete information of his/her state of health to ensure the treatment is carried out safely.
Please note, protecting our patient´s privacy is very important to us. Your personal information and medical history will not be shared with any third parties.
Oral Exam
Following the detailed medical and dental history review during the initial consultation a thorough oral examination will be carried out specific to the problem site. This examination also includes looking for signs of periodontal disease and any gingival condition, tooth fractures, cavities, problems with previous dental work and occlusal discrepancies.
Dental x-rays and CBCT scans are required for an accurate diagnosis. If the patient does not provide these in advance we will need to take the x-rays at the time of the consultation or have the CBCT scan done in an imaging center.
Diagnostic and Treatment
Once the patient’s medical history and the initial examination is completed, the periodontist will analyze the information gathered and provide a personalized diagnosis for the patient with a customized treatment plan. Once the diagnosis is formulated, the prognosis and treatment plan can be considered.
Estimated Costs of Proposed Treatment
The estimated cost can usually be determined during the first consultation. Only in certain and very specific cases, a further and broader examination may be necessary to determine the complete treatment plan that will be followed and its cost.

- Children must be accompanied to the consultation by an adult.
- We recommend bringing a list of all prescribed medications the patient is currently taking.

I had brought back a terrible infection in my gums from my vacation in Italy, but Daniel immediately recognized that this had to be treated immediately and came to his practice on Saturday especially for me. The treatment worked immediately, but the tooth could no longer be saved.So I had an implant fitted by Daniel and what can I say - I am extremely satisfied. Better than my dentist in Germany. ¿Cómo llegué con el Dr Daniel?, por internet, por éste medio, y ha sido una gran salvación.Desesperada por unos trabajos mal hechos en años anteriores, estamos hablando de 20 años, mis dientes necesitaban urgentemente de implantes, un MUY nerviosa comencé a buscar opciones, pues no tenia ningun conocido que haya realizado ésta técnica. Decidí sacar una cita y desde el primer contacto él y su personal han sido como si fueran mis amigos, entendiendo cada petición.Llena de miedos, al principio de mi parte, poco a poco el Dr Daniel fué disipando, con sus conocimientos y su excelente trabajo, cada paso que dabamos era un acierto. Dr Daniele gave me 7 implants, 1 extraction, 2 root canals, bone draft and took out all my old fillings and replaced them with new lighter fillings as well as covering all my top front teeth with something that made them look like new (but still natural)I traveled from the Princeton area for the work.He’s a super talented dentist and very honest with his advise too (dentists in USA try to sell me as much as they could. , dr daniel gave me the facts.)Great communication, and one of the most personal dental experience ever.Looks like I’ve found my dentist for any future dental work.He’s 3300 miles from my home, but to be honest, that’s a small price to pay.Thank you so much to Dr Daniel and his team.

Update: Dr. Fernández works on my dental implants exceeded my expectations. He put in bone grafts and 8 implants that none of the periodontists in US said is possible because I lost my teeth over 30 years ago. He also restored my remaining natural teeth with root canals, post and crowns.The implants not only look great and natural but also function very well. I haven’t been able to chew food well for many years and now I can chew effortlessly! He also made sure my biting is correct. The implants look so natural that even if I open my mouth, nobody can tell that I have implants. They are also made for easy cleaning. I gave him a model smile photos and he actually made my smile look just like the model 🙂 He is the best dental implants specialist, architect and artist to me. He is a God’s gift to whoever needs extensive implants like me. I am so glad I found him. Monterrey is only 2 hours flight from Dallas. It is a modern city and the people are very warm. I always feel safe and welcome when I go there. The treatment was painless. Dr. Fernández made sure that I do not feel any pain. I was always afraid to go to the dentist but I really trust him and his assistant so I never have the fear even when I had a big procedure.Sept 2020:Dr. Fernandez spent many hours to resolve my dental issues. En Diciembre del 2019 ya desesperada por haber intentado todo para reemplazar unas piezas molares que fueron tratadas muchas veces y que terminé perdiendo. Intenté primero con puentes, porque yo quería evitar los implantes, por mi temor natural, que era motivado por los médicos que me habían tratado hasta ese momento. Estos puentes fueron un fallo total y que además me llevaron a sacrificar piezas en buen estado. (Error total! No lo hagan por favor!) Yo todavía no lo supero al 100%.Ya en este punto decidí buscar en la web recomendaciones de especialistas y aparecieron los datos del Dr. Daniel Fernández, leí las reseñas hice cita y le expliqué mi situación.Me explicó que necesitaba un estudio 3D para ver a detalle mi caso y que de ahí me diría cuál sería el tratamiento ideal para mi. Desde ahí ya me inspiro confianza.Ya con el estudio me indicó el tratamiento, el cual ha sido secuencial, lo que me ha permitido reunir el presupuesto, el cual considero justo y esperado en los procedimientos ya conocidos por referencias anteriores.Al día de hoy ya voy muy avanzada en mi tratamiento y estoy sumamente satisfecha con su trabajo, bendito Dios muy diferente a todo lo que tenía temor, ya tengo 2 implantes colocados y podría decir que sin dolor, salvo las molestias propias del procedimiento y de la recuperación, las cuales han sido mínimas. Por todo esto lo recomiendo ampliamente.

No recuerdo cuando hice una última publicación que valiera la la pena y esta no la debía dejar pasar por alto.Les cuento, necesitaba ayuda con mi salud bucal, relacionado con el tema de encías y el doctor Daniel mostró toda la disposición para llevar mi caso. Le expliqué mi situación, la analizo y me ofreció una solución. Fijamos una fecha para realizar el “injerto de encía” el cual lo realizó de manera excepcional con ayuda de su asistente “Iveth”. Durante el procedimiento, NADA de dolor, CERO complicaciones posteriores. En cita posterior el doctor me dijo que el injerto está en perfectas condiciones lo cual me hizo saltar de alegría, espero no necesitar en un futuro cercano, ni lejano otro procedimiento de este tipo y que la próxima vez que nos veamos doctor sea solo para una limpieza dental.Eternamente agradecido y no dudando de recomendar los servicios del doctor Daniel. 👍🏼

Les cuento, en esta pandemia 🌍 del COVID 19 anduve buscando a varios especialistas que atendieran mi caso, la desesperación se convirtió en alivio cuando de manera personal el Dr. Daniel contestó mi llamada, aclaró mis dudas previas y fijamos una cita para evaluar mi caso. En la cita el doctor me escuchó, revisó y me explico la situación de mi caso y lo que era más adecuado hacer. NO dude en ningún momento que mi “salud bucal” estaría en buenas manos así que fijamos una fecha para la cirugía de injerto gingival.
Durante el procedimiento, estaba un poco asustado, obviamente, su asistente me dijo “no te preocupes, no pasa nada” 😌 lo cual me dio más seguridad, ya en el proceso todo fue más rápido de lo que imaginaba, SIN dolor, lo mejor, NO hubo ningún tipo de complicación posterior, lo que me hizo saltar de felicidad.
En MI CASO, considero que los 3 primeros días fueron claves para mi recuperación (me chuté una semana sin hacer nada😅) nada de hablar, nada de actividades pesadas, simplemente relajarme en mi sillón viendo tv 📺, tomando mis medicamentos y lo mejor, comiendo a gusto(alimentación blanda).
En resumen, recomiendo ampliamente al doctor Daniel para cualquier trabajo de encías que requieras, en especial el relacionado con injertos.
A la otra que nos veamos 🥼 doctor , sea solo para una limpieza dental 🦷 , GRACIAS.

Excelente atención, diagnóstico y servicio por parte del Dr. Daniel Fdz. y su asistente. Tenía un problema con sangrado de encías y logró diagnosticar, decirme en cuanto tiempo podíamos arreglar el problema y el proceso fue solo lo que necesitaba, gracias a Dios quedé perfecto. No me hizo cosas demás que necesitaba. Muy recomendado el Dr. Daniel Fernández.

Vine desde San Antonio para hacerme un trabajo extenso en mis dientes. Dos implantes, 9 coronas y dos endodoncias .El precio fue muy razonable pero la calidad y trato al paciente fueron extraordinarios!Los doctores Daniel Fernandez y Luis Garza hicieron un trabajo de alta calidad, con un toque humano excelente. En mi caso, no tuve ningún dolor y ninguna complicación.Yo recomiendo a todos que requieran endodoncias, coronas o implantes que se atiendan con estos doctores.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the dental work I received here in August of 2019. The procedures performed by Dr. Daniel Fernandez, Dr. Luis Cortez and their staff were completed in just 3 visits. All work was completed in 3 weeks. I had to have a rotten front tooth extracted, then was given a temporary partial of 6 teeth and finally a permanent partial of the 6 teeth needed. All the procedures were PAINLESS which is something I have never experienced at a dental office before going here! I was very apprehensive. They were so professional, yet at the same time caring and informative. Also, Dr. Daniel Fernandez speaks perfect English so I understood everything going on. I could not afford to have the work done in the USA, but I could here. I would highly recommend Dr Daniel Fernandez and the entire staff for any dental procedures you would need. My proudest moment was walking out of there with the biggest SMILE I have had in 10 years! I have had no problems since returning home over a month ago. They are able to set you up with accommodations while there. Enjoy the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Thanks again Dr Daniel Fernandez!

Si buscan como en mi caso un injerto de encía o cualquier tema relacionado con ellas este es lugar indicado y el mejor es el Dr. Daniel Fernández el es toda amabilidad y atención y en vdd tiene manos mágicas ya que tanto en el procedimiento como en la recuperación no sentí dolor alguno a como cree uno que seria en una cirugía asi.. Where do I begin? Dr. Fernandez is an extremely caring doctor who speaks incredible English and provides outstanding medical care; how's that for a beginning?I came to Monterrey to have a major gum graft done. Dr. Fernandez answered questions I had months before the surgery. He took a lot of time to explain the procedure and even so far as to draw out,anatomically, what would be done. This is when I knew I would be in good hands.The surgery went smoothly, and he continued to tell me what he was doing while doing it. To be honest, I was alone and felt rather intimidated by the whole thing, but it was comforting to have Dr. Fernandez describing to me his actions. Have I mentioned how good his English is?!Afterwards, he had already prepared the proper doses of medication for me so I would not have to go to the pharmacy post-op.Monterrey is a beautiful city and I never felt in any danger, and although you will be "out of your element," Daniel Fernandez will provide you with exceptional dental care in a country with exceptional fruit to eat after your mouth operation😃I will return for any other procedure though I hope I won't need any. Highly recommended!
